Aegon Global Technology Services (GTS) provides IT infrastructure, application and cloud support services to the Aegon business units. GTS is responsible for the provisioning, support and ongoing maintenance of IT operating platforms, applications, and services. Additional GTS responsibilities include providing IT infrastructure solutions that are in alignment with business objectives and the AGT technology strategy.


GTS Transition Management is a Level 3 team that provides advising services, operational support, and process management for the scheduling-related technologies on our UK mainframe estate. This team is responsible for the creation, maintenance, and elevation of Job Control Language. Maintaining and building of batch job schedules in production, utilizing current scheduling software TWS and Jobtrac on the mainframe environment.

Pozíció leírása / Job description

  • Solve any scheduling and JCL issues with limited assistance
  • Installation and configuration of basic software components with limited assistance
  • Works with customers to identify scheduling and JCL requirements
  • Capable of creating documentation on complex scheduling and JCL functions
  • Understanding of all scheduling and JCL methods and infrastructure
  • Good understanding of all tool functions
  • Work with first level 3rd party and vendor support teams to resolve basic scheduling and JCL issues
  • Completion of any compliance tickets or audit findings to agreed timescales
  • Participates successfully on a project team with no assistance
  • Coordinating and scheduling the daily batch workload
  • Maintain quality assurance of scheduling documentation and standards
  • Provide frontline support for incoming scheduling calls, incidents, and service requests
  • Mentors and assists with training of less seasoned team members
  • Support on-call 24x7


Elvárások / Requirements

  • Associates degree in computer science or a minimum of five years of work experience in mainframe scheduling
  • Strong Knowledge of: TWS, TSO/ISPF, JCL, Z/OS Utilities, Control-D, Incident, Problem, and Change Management
  • General understanding of Infrastructure services and support mechanisms (ITIL disciplines)
  • Capable of performing basic data transmission operations
  • Has a high level of interpersonal and communication skills and displays a self-driven, proactive work ethic
  • Ability to work with customers to identify data transmission requirements
  • Ability to work in an office based work environment with work from home on a limited pre-approved basis only
  • Must be able to work non-traditional work hours as needed
