Our partner, a leading global player in the digital asset and blockchain space, is looking for a motivated and experienced Fraud Risk Specialist to join their growing risk team in Budapest. With operations in over 180 countries and a user base of over 50 million worldwide, they are at the forefront of blockchain innovation, offering advanced products including crypto exchanges, NFT platforms, and Web3 data solutions.
As a Fraud Risk Specialist, you’ll be a key player in building and operating the European fraud detection and investigation function. Your work will focus on analyzing and mitigating financial fraud risks related to crypto transactions and digital payments.
This position is part of a 24/7 operation and includes shift-based work in rotation, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
You will work cross-functionally with departments such as Compliance, Customer Service, Product, and Finance to enhance fraud monitoring capabilities and support global business growth.
🔎 Key Responsibilities
Monitor and investigate suspicious transactions and customer behaviors to detect fraud or abuse (e.g. identity theft, account takeovers, chargebacks).
Conduct in-depth case investigations using internal and external tools.
Communicate with customers to validate transaction authenticity when needed.
Prepare fraud reports, document case findings, and suggest process improvements.
Identify fraud trends and work with stakeholders to implement preventive measures.
Support development of internal policies, procedures, and training materials for fraud management.
Collaborate with global teams and contribute to the setup of the regional fraud risk team in Hungary.
Participate in a rotating 24/7 shift schedule, ensuring continuous fraud monitoring and response.
2–4 years of experience in fraud investigation, payment risk, AML, or a related field.
Background in fintech, banking, digital payments, or crypto is a strong advantage.
Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills to identify suspicious patterns.
Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal.
Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced, international environment.
Experience with fraud detection systems or blockchain analytics tools (e.g. Elliptic) is a plus.
Willingness and availability to work on a 24/7 rotating shift schedule, might including nights and weekends as well.
